Coparenting Support Services

“When your WHY is big enough, you will find your HOW” ~Les Brown

Your children are the enduring wealth of your relationship with your coparent. They depend on you both to supply their needs, nurture and guide them to adulthood. Doing what is necessary to stay focused on that goal can be difficult; Particularly when dealing with conflict and the resulting grief, frustration and disappointment. Regardless of the state of your relationship with your coparent, you can create the peaceful, well-functioning two home family your children deserve. Below are services that can help.

Parenting Plan Mediation

A parenting plan is an agreement that will govern how you will raise your children to be healthy adults from two homes. Along with setting where the children will spend their time, who will make decisions for them, and how their financial needs will be met; parenting plans should reflect the commitment both parents have made to maintain a stable environment for each child. What is your philosophy on how to best raise your child in two homes? What will guide your actions when difficult situations arise? I help coparents understand the needs and challenges to be addressed, and help facilitate the conversations necessary for them to create their unique parenting plan that will provide for their children’s needs into adulthood.

Coparenting Coaching

As a coparenting coach I provide education and support to parents seeking to create an effective coparenting relationship. Whether you have never been married, are divorced or simply raising a child from two homes as friends, coparenting coaching will support you as you endeavor to create a strong two-home family for your child. Coaching sessions can be held individually or with your coparent.

Parenting Coordination

Parenting coordination is a child-focused alternative dispute resolution process in which a trained mental health or legal professional helps high conflict parents resolve disputes regarding their existing parenting plan. The objective is to facilitate resolution in a timely manner to protect children and promote healthy and meaningful parent-child relationships.  A parenting coordinator is typically appointed by a court order or private consent agreement.

As a trained parenting coordinator, I provide education on effective coparenting communication, the psychological and developmental needs of children, and strategies for managing conflict.  Where necessary, referrals to mental health professionals or other community service providers may be facilitated.
